Six booked after four days for allegedly extorting ransom

Actor-comedian Sunil Pal grabbed headlines after he was kidnapped on December 2 and his wife registered a missing complaint at the Santacruz Police Station. The well-known comedian Sunil returned home on December 4 and spoke his heart out about the entire kidnapping incident. Now, the kidnapping case has been seeing major developments. As per the latest reports, the Santacruz police have filed an FIR against six unidentified people for allegedly kidnapping Sunil and extorting money from him. According to the Hindustan Times, the Santacruz police have registered an FIR against the unidentified suspects for kidnapping and extorting a ransom of Rs 7.50 lakhs from Sunil. The investigation has been transferred to the Meerut police for further investigation as the comedian was reportedly released on a road in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. Sunil revealed that he was kidnapped and the kidnappers released him after the payment of ransom. He even revealed that the kidnappers told him that they would allow him to return home after receiving the money. The goons had demanded Rs 20 lakhs earlier, but after the negotiations, they agreed for Rs 10 lakhs. Sunil said, ‘Rs 7.50 lakhs were transferred to the kidnappers, and they allowed me to leave at 6:30 PM…It all happened within 24 hours. I was in stress, and my mind was not working. They dropped me on Meerut’s highway in the evening’. He even said that the kidnappers gave him Rs 20,000 to catch a flight to Mumbai as they wanted the comedian to be with his family.

He even added saying, ‘They had blindfolded me, and only removed it when necessary Their faces were covered, so I couldn’t recognize or identify them. Everything happened within 24 hours, and I was under so much stress that I couldn’t think clearly. In the evening they left me on the highway near Meerut’.

On the professional front, Sunil won The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 205. He has been part of several Bollywood films such as Phir Hera Pheri, Apna Sapna Money Money, and Bombay to Goa.
