NFL Week 14 picks, odds
Post sports gambling editor/producer and digital sports editor Matt Ehalt is in his first season in the NFL Bettor’s Guide.
New Orleans Saints (-4.5) over NEW YORK GIANTS
The Giants have failed to cover in seven straight games and are banged up across the board.
They are starting Drew Lock.
Malik Nabers has been mediocre since his electric start.
The defense just lost its best player in Dexter Lawrence. There’s not a whole lot to like.
The Saints may not be good, but they won two straight before a one-score loss to the Rams and somehow are still in the NFC South mix despite being 4-8.
This also feels like an “Alvin Kamara won me my fantasy matchup” week with the dual-threat back facing the NFL’s fourth-worst rushing defense.
Don’t overthink this one.
Fade a Giant team with its eyes already focused on 2025 — and perhaps the No. 1 pick — and back the team for which the game has actual meaning.
Atlanta Falcons (+5.5) over MINNESOTA VIKINGS
They burned us last week, but we’re going to take the Falcons again.
Minnesota tends to play close games, with eight of its 10 wins coming by 10 points or less.
Three of the Vikings’ last four wins have come by no more than five points, which includes tight triumphs against the lowly Jaguars and Bears.
The Falcons desperately need a win after last week’s clunker, and let’s not forget that this is a “revenge game” for Kirk Cousins.
Betting on the NFL?
The Vikings moved on from Cousins and you can be sure he wants to show them he’s still got it.
Plus, you have to imagine he rebounds from last week’s dreadful four-interception game.
Minnesota ranks fifth in passing yards allowed per game, which should help keep this game close.
Last week: 1-1. Falcons (L), Broncos (W)
Season: 10-16.
