Pacman Jones Arrested for Public Intoxication and Assaulting an Officer Following Paul-Tyson Fight
Police arrested former NFL star Adam “Pacman” Jones late Friday night following the much-hyped Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson boxing spectacle at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Officers reportedly detained Jones at the Loews Arlington Hotel, a short distance from the stadium, on charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest, evading arrest, and even assaulting a police officer. It seems that a bar fight between Jones and other individuals at the hotel led to police being called. USA Today reports that Jones hit one of the responding officers on the arm when they arrived at the scene. Jones’ reps, however, fired back, vehemently denying the allegations.
“Pac was in town for the fight and was enjoying himself, spending time with the fans,” his representatives told TMZ Sports. “Pacman was returning to his hotel to wind down for the evening. He was not looking for trouble.”
This isn’t his first arrest for assault. The former All-Pro cornerback, notorious for his off-field troubles, has a history riddled with incidents. In February 2021, Jones was arrested in Ohio for allegedly kicking and punching someone so brutally they were left unconscious. And now, this latest arrest piles onto a rap sheet that includes a 2019 casino scandal where he faced felony charges after a heated confrontation over cheating accusations. As if his arrest wasn’t already shocking enough, Jones, now a media personality, continues to stir controversy with his no-holds-barred opinions.
The former NFL star’s career, though studded with potential, has been overshadowed by constant turmoil. Drafted No. 5 overall in 2005, Jones played 12 seasons before retiring in 2019.
