Bollywood had grown bold over the years. The stars are open to performing aesthetically crafted bold scenes in films and audiences are more accepting. From divas being in bikinis to love making scenes, adding the hotness quotient to the films is now a common norm. But there was a time when even kissing scenes drew attention. Emraan Hashmi‘s Bollywood journey has been more about living upto the ‘serial kisser’ tag. But bold scenes do not ensure box office success. This film is proof of it.
One of Bollywood’s worst films
A Bollywood film that released in 2013 became the hot topic of discussion back then due to its multiple kissing scenes. More than 30 lip locks to be precise. And it did not star Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat who had already established themselves King and Queen of bold scenes by then!
This film is titled 3G. It starred Neil Nitin Mukesh and Sonal Chauhan. It was directed by Sheershak Anand and Shantanu Ray Chhibber. The story revolves around a man who travels to Fiji to meet his lady love. After losing his phone, he gets a new phone with a 3G connection. However, everything changes when he gets calls for an unknown person. He also gets a video that has a lady being killed. He and his partner then try to solve the mystery.
The film did not open to good reactions. It got an IMDb rating of 3.6. It reportedly only made Rs 5.9 crore at the box office worldwide. It was a box office dub and could not bring any profit to the makers. However, the film did rule headlines in entertainment news as it had more than 30 kissing scenes. Even Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor’s film Bekire did not featuring so many kissing scenes. The movie is now available to watch on OTT and YouTube.
