Isla Fisher Sacha Baron Cohen split: Star’s subtle three-word nod to split in new commercial for Air New Zealand
Aussie actress Isla Fisher has appeared in a hilarious new commercial for Air New Zealand where she poked fun at her newly single status.
The Confessions of a Shopaholic star, 48, appears to take a playful jab at her split from Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen, 53, as she tries to set herself up with a single dad in the ad.
It starts with Fisher meeting the man’s daughter on the airplane, then bumping into the dad after they land.

”Dad, I made a new friend. Can she come for a playdate sometime?” the child tells her handsome Kiwi father.
“I’d love that,” he replies, before Fisher cheekily adds: “How about now?”
Fans quickly latched onto those three little words, which seemed to be a subtle nod to Fisher’s sudden split from longtime husband Cohen earlier this year.
“Great thanks for inviting me,” she adds in the commercial, laughing.

Fisher shared the clip on her Instagram page with her millions of followers and wrote: “What a ride! Thanks Air New Zealand.”
“Credit where it’s due, that was a fun ad,” one viewer commented on YouTube on the airline’s official page.

Reality star splits from influencer after six months
Earlier this year, Fisher and British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen announced their shock split on social media, after more than 20 years together.
“After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down,” they wrote.
“In 2023, we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritised our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.”
They continued: “We forever share in our devotion and love for our children. We sincerely appreciate your respecting our family’s wish for privacy.”
The couple first met at a party back in 2002 and married in 2010.
