AR Rahman took to his X handle (formerly Twitter) and spoke about the separation situation. He shared an emotional note and spoke about his journey with his wife. Rahman confirmed the separation and wrote, ‘We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again’.

The music maestro’s heartfelt note showcased his strong and deep bond with his wife Saira. He acknowledged the pain of their parting as he expressed gratitude for the kindness and respect shown by his supporters and friends during the tough time.
He also added saying, ‘To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter’. Rahman has always been known for the efforts he puts into keeping his family life private. AR Rahman and Saira Banu’s 29 years of marriage has been a source of admiration for many.
On Tuesday night, Saira confirmed that she is parting ways from husband AR Rahman after nearly three decades of marriage. Her statement read, ‘After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband Mr. A R. Rahman. This decision comes after significant emotional strain in their relationship. Despite their deep love for each other, the couple has found that the tensions and difficulties have created an insurmountable gap between them, one that neither party feels able to bridge at this time.’ The statement further read, ‘Mrs. Saira emphasized that she has taken this decision out of pain and agony. Mrs Saira requests privacy and understanding from the public during this challenging time, as she navigates this difficult chapter in her life’.
On the personal front, AR Rahman and Saira got married on 12 March 1995 through an arranged marriage.
