Shaboozey Seemingly Reacts to CMA Snub After Fans Rally Behind Him
The 2024 CMA Awards brought together country music’s biggest stars for a night of memorable performances, but not without controversy. Shaboozey, one of the genre’s rising stars, left empty-handed despite the massive success of his hit single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which lost Single of the Year to Chris Stapleton’s “White Horse.”
Fans quickly took to social media to express their disappointment, with one posting, “Shaboozey not winning a CMA is legitimately crazy lol. Can’t go anywhere without hearing that song, man.”
Others pointed to broader issues in the country music industry. Some compared the snub to the lack of CMA recognition for Beyoncé, saying Shaboozey had done everything to immerse himself in the Nashville scene and still walked away with no awards.
Amid the backlash, Shaboozey addressed the situation on X (formerly Twitter) with grace and gratitude, sharing a series of reflective tweets.
“Couldn’t have ever in my wildest dreams imagined being here. I’m grateful for all of it,” he wrote.
In another post, he continued, “Win or lose, I’m blessed by something or someone that has a power beyond my understanding.”

He concluded his response by highlighting the impact of his music and his love for the genre: “I’m here today hopefully living in my purpose and if my music makes even the tiniest positive impact in someone’s life I can die with a smile. Country music changed my life and I’m forever grateful to it and for it.”
