Khalid Confirms He’s Gay After Being Outed: “I’m Okay With Me”
R&B sensation Khalid has officially come out as gay, addressing the topic publicly after claims that he was outed by another artist. The multi-platinum singer took to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday night to post a rainbow flag emoji, followed by the lighthearted comment, “There y’all go. Next topic please lol.”

Khalid’s tweet followed a series of social media posts by singer Hugo D Almonte, which reportedly outed the “Location” singer. Although Almonte’s posts have since been deleted, Khalid responded directly to speculation in his own way.
When a follower replied to his initial post with, “Wait, hope Mr. Khalid isn’t GEHHH!” Khalid quote-tweeted their comment, stating plainly, “I am! And that’s okay.”
I wasn’t hiding anything! It’s just not any of your business https://t.co/jAW9f7I5oO

Khalid expanded on his feelings in a series of follow-up posts, emphasizing his pride in his identity.
“I got outed and the world still continues to turn,” Khalid wrote. “Let’s get this straight (lmao). I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality, it ain’t nobody’s business! But I am okay with me. Love y’all.”
He also addressed fans directly, explaining that he had never actively hidden his sexuality. “I wasn’t hiding anything! It’s just not any of your business,” he clarified, reinforcing the idea that his sexuality didn’t define him as an artist or individual.
Fans and supporters flooded Khalid’s comments with messages of love and acceptance. Many noted that the revelation wasn’t a major surprise, especially given the themes of some of his music, such as his 2022 song “Satellite,” which some have dubbed an LGBTQ anthem.
In the end, Khalid made it clear that his sexuality doesn’t define his music, and he remains focused on his artistry. As he put it, “There y’all go. Next topic please.”
