Camden County 4-star tight end Elyiss Williams excited to sign with Georgia Bulldogs

KINGSLAND, GA. – With the early college football signing period this week, a dream is becoming a reality for Camden County senior tight end Elyiss Williams.

“I can’t believe it sometimes,” Williams said. “God blessed me with a lot of abilities and God-given talent.”

When he signs his Letter of Intent to the University of Georgia on Wednesday, Williams will officially become a Bulldog.

“Georgia be my hometown state and me watching them play growing up and me liking them growing up,” Williams said. “Always being on the other side against Florida-Georgia game all the time. Kirby Smart, he from South Georgia as well. It felt like I knew him for like forever even when I first started talking to him.”

Williams’s talent ranks as the most elite in the nation. He is the best tight end in the country, a consensus four-star recruit according to the four major recruiting services. In 39 career games, Williams had 1,580 receiving yards on 90 receptions and 19 touchdowns.

“My high school process has been pretty great,” Williams said. “I’ve been a part of some really good teams over the years. I’ve formed a lot of great relationships with coaches and players and I got a lot of memories that I’ll never forget.”

Williams is ending his high school career next to where he first started playing football — on the grass field next to the stadium. His earliest memories are playing football with his two brothers.

“We be out here practicing and then there be a flag football game, a rec game,” Williams said. “They’d be getting ready for the games so they’d be on the field with us sometimes. I just be thinking like ‘man that was me at one point’.”

Soon he’ll be playing between the hedges at Sanford Stadium.

“I can’t wait,” Williams said. “The environment, the fans, and just the people there are great.”
