Charlemagne Predicted Drake’s Legal War with Kendrick Lamar and UMG Over ‘Not Like Us’

Charlemagne tha God called it six months ago, predicting Drake’s lawsuit and warning that his powerhouse status in the industry would lead to serious challenges.

Back in May, Charlemagne pointed out, “Drake is half white. There’s people that have real vested interest in Drake. That is a multi-billion dollar entity. They like—you got to protect your neck. Fck all that rap sht.”

Fast-forward to now, Drake has taken legal action against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify, accusing them of inflating streams for Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us.

The track climbed to the top of the charts, allegedly with help from bots, reduced licensing fees, and social media influencers paid by UMG. Drake even claimed Siri misdirected users asking for his album to Kendrick’s track.

This legal battle is the latest in a long-standing tension between the two rap icons.

As you know, their beef escalated this year with Not Like Us, which Kendrick surprise-dropped amid Drake’s album release.

As Drake fights these claims in court, it seems rap beef is hitting new heights with streaming wars and lawsuits included.
