Drake Drops $10K to Fund the Prize for Hilarious Toronto Lookalike Contest [Video]
The lookalike contest craze isn’t going anywhere, with an army of Drake doppelgängers descending upon Toronto to compete for a $10,000 prize, courtesy of Drizzy himself.

Anthony Po, the mastermind behind the Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest, which offered a modest $50 prize, unwittingly sparked a trend of copycat competitions. The Drake competition was fierce, with everything from “For All the Dogs” to courtside Drizzy-inspired looks.
It was all in good fun, especially when the “Take Care” star gave his blessing by sharing clips of the event on his Instagram Story with a heartfelt caption, “I love this city.” According to Po, “Girl Drake,” whose real name is Makayla Chambers, stole the show, bagging the $10k prize and sharing her glee in an interview with the Toronto Star.
“I feel like I made it,” she proudly shared.
While Drake seems to have a sense of humor about his lookalikes, he’s not quite as amused with his label, Universal Music Group. His lawsuit against the company continues, accusing UMG of pushing Kendrick Lamar’s massive diss track, “Not Like Us,” with bots and other illicit means. Many have accused Drake of simply being a sore loser while others believe he is working to correct the music industry by eliminating the practice of illegally inflating records. Either way, it’s nice to see Drake receive some praise after seemingly losing his rap battle to Lamar.
