Ex-Yankee Gary Sanchez signs one-year, $8.5M deal with Orioles
Gary Sanchez has a new home, and it’s with one of the Yankees’ chief rivals.
Sanchez and the Baltimore Orioles agreed to a one-year, $8.5 million contract on Saturday night, the Post’s Jon Heyman reported.
The club has not confirmed the deal.
Sanchez played for the Brewers last season and hit .220 with 11 homers and 37 RBIs in 89 games.
The veteran catcher, who is entering his 11th MLB season, is a career .224 hitter with 184 homers and 485 RBIs.
Sanchez, 32, played seven seasons for the Yankees from 2015-2021, hit .220 with 138 homers and 340 RBIs.
In 2022, Sanchez played for the Twins and the Mets. During his time in Queens, Sanchez played just three games with the Amazin’s after having a longer stint with Triple-A Syracuse.
The news of Sanchez’s signing came just a few hours after the Orioles agreed to a three-year, $49.5 million contract with outfielder Tyler O’Neill.
