Fashion Designer, Bongolan, Files Lawsuit Against Diddy
An up-and-coming fashion designer has filed a lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs for allegedly trying to kill her. The designer, Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, claims that after becoming friends with Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, Combs nearly threw her off of a 17-story balcony. “I’m the motherf***ing devil,” he allegedly said before threatening Bongolan. This lawsuit joins several against the disgraced music mogul.
According to Rolling Stone, Bongolan filed a 17-page lawsuit last week in Los Angeles. The suit alleges sexual battery, infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment, and more. The fashion designer is seeking $10 million for emotional distress.
In addition to her experience with the Bad Boy founder, Bongolan claims to have witnessed the abuse Cassie suffered during her relationship with Combs. In September 2016, the fashion designer experienced first-hand the abuse Combs is allegedly capable of. She alleges she was dangled off of the balcony of Ventura’s apartment. Diddy and his legal team deny Bongolan’s claims. However, her attorney, James R. Nikraftar, states Combs tried to end her life.
“The only purpose of dangling someone over a balcony is to actually kill them or to intentionally terrorize them and rob them of any concept of dominion over their own bodily autonomy and safety,” Nikraftar stated in the filing. “Ms. Bongolan refuses to allow this fear to control the rest of her life and brings this action to demand that Mr. Combs takes responsibility for the trauma he intentionally and maliciously inflicted.”
Despite the serious claims, Combs’ legal team implies that Bongolan is filing the lawsuit just for the sake of it.
“Anyone has the right to file a lawsuit, regardless of the evidence they may or may not have,” his legal team said in a statement provided to Rolling Stone. “Since last year, Ms. Bongolan has expressed an intention to sue Mr. Combs and has sought legal representation to pursue her claims. Mr. Combs firmly denies these serious allegations and remains confident they will ultimately be proven baseless.”
Bongolan Details The Night Her Life Allegedly Dangled Over Cassie’s 17-Story Balcony
In the lawsuit, Bongolan stated she met Ventura, who was dating Combs, in 2014. Through her friendship with Ventura, she gained a working relationship with Combs. She says she worked on several projects with the rapper, including designing Bad Boy jackets, outfits for the Bad Boy Reunion tour, music videos, and even a fashion line with Cassie.
While working with Combs and continuing her friendship with Ventura, Bongolan says she witnessed “disturbing signs of an abusive relationship” between the couple. She alleges that Combs would call Ventura numerous times if she wouldn’t answer him, show up unannounced at her apartment, and question if people were trying to “f*** his woman.” Most disturbing, Bongolan saw Ventura with bruises and black eyes. She also witnessed a fight between the two in which Diddy threw a knife at Cassie, resulting in her throwing one back.
Soon, Bongolan found herself in Combs’ path of rage. The filing alleges that he cornered her while at a photoshoot and threatened her.
“I’m the motherf***ing devil,” Combs allegedly told Bongolan. “You have no idea what I could do to you. I could kill you.”
According to the lawsuit, on September 26, 2016, those threats almost became a reality. Bongolan and her girlfriend spent the night at Ventura’s apartment when Combs began to bang on the door. Bongolan’s girlfriend locked herself in the bathroom for safety while the father of seven bombarded the apartment. Before long, he and the fashion designer were on the balcony of the 17th floor.
Then Combs allegedly groped Bongolan’s breasts before lifting her by her armpits and yelling, “Do you know what the f*** you did? Do you know what the f*** you did?”
Bongolan claims she continued to try to get back on the ground with no luck, dangling until Cassie, who was locked in the bedroom, appeared horrified at the scene. The lawsuit claimed she was screaming at Combs and reminded him that Bongolan’s girlfriend was there and could become a witness. Diddy then retreated, and Bongolan was thrown to the ground of the balcony, knocking over patio furniture.
According to Rolling Stone, Ventura referenced this night in her lawsuit against Diddy. As BOSSIP reported, the case was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount in October 2023.
Combs is currently awaiting trial in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center. He has pled not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering charges and has been denied bail. His trial is set for May 2025.
