How to see Spotify Wrapped early: Everything to know about the Spotify AI hack you can use to get a playlist of your most-listened-to songs
When the last Wednesday of November rolled around, music lovers around the world eagerly opened up their Spotify accounts.
For those who love to know how they’re perceived by those around them (don’t worry, me too) Spotify Wrapped day has the same kind of excitement Christmas morning did when you were seven.
There’s a giddy excitement that takes over when it’s time to find out what kind of person I am based solely off of my music listening history.

So, you can only imagine the disappointment felt when I, like millions of others across the globe, opened my Spotify account only to see my regular homepage.
Where is my Spotify Wrapped?
Turns out Spotify is playing hard to get this year, throwing us all through a loop by not releasing Wrapped on the usual last Wednesday of November.
To make the cut a little deeper, they’re also not telling us when they will be releasing it. And then, just to twist the knife and yank it back out, they’re teasing us about it, too.
Watch the video above.
Well, Spotify, I have one word for you – checkmate.
It turns out I don’t need you to tell me what my Spotify Wrapped is, I can do it myself.
Instead of waiting around, holding back tears as I try my best to be patient, I took things into my own hands and thought, ‘How can I use my favourite music streaming platform’s incredibly handy features against them in this time of desperate need?’
And I came up with a genius plan.

Now, when I told my friends about this hack, it turned out the AI Playlist feature isn’t used as often as I thought, with most asking me, “What do you mean AI Playlist feature?”
So for those who don’t know, Spotify has a fabulous feature for lazy people (such as myself) who find curating a playlist is sometimes way too much effort and prefer to just describe the overall vibe they’re looking for and have someone else (AI) create it for them!
Now you know the science behind my madness, let me share the method.
Here’s how to get your Spotify Wrapped 2024 ahead of time (kind of)
First, you’re going to want to open your Spotify app and head to the “Your Library” tab.
From there, click on the plus sign (+) in the top right hand corner and select the “AI Playlist” option.

Then, in the white text box that says “tell me your ideas” with a fun little sparkle icon, you need to write these exact words:
“Make me a playlist of my top 100 most listened to songs from the past 365 days”
Now, the wording here is very important. Through a bit of trial and error, I discovered just a little switch in the phrasing can completely change your results and leave you with a potentially less accurate playlist.
Once you’ve typed those words in and hit “create,” Spotify AI will think for a minute before handing you what seems like it could be an accurate playlist of your top 100 most listened to songs.
Now, we don’t know for sure that this is accurate, but we had a few people on the team try it out and see if theirs looked legit – and they all said yes.
For example, sitting proudly at the top of my playlist is the masterpiece that is Addison Rae’s Diet Pepsi which, if you knew me, you would know makes perfect sense (I went through a phase of passionately playing it on repeat, and I’m not quite out of it yet).
Now, since I’m someone who’s never satisfied with what they have and always pushes things a bit to far, I decided to see just how much of my Spotify Wrapped data I could squeeze out of this AI bad boy.
This one took a lot of trial and error in terms of wording, but I seem to have eventually gotten a playlist filled with songs by the artist who I pretty confidently can say will be my top artist of 2024.
So, I went back to the AI Playlist feature and wrote these words:
“Make me a playlist of songs all from my number one most listened to artist of the past 365 days.”
Voila! I got a playlist consisting of nothing but Gracie Abrams songs.
Then, of course, I decided to keep going and ask instead for songs from my number two artist, which generated me playlist filled with Harry Styles songs which, once again, absolutely checks out.

Now, Spotify, I don’t mean to cut your grass here. I love you, and I want you to remember that.
But, frankly, you robbed me of Christmas. I woke up in the morning to a stocking full of coal and not a single present under the tree.
Then, I was promised my presents would be arriving anytime now. The past few days has been like waiting for a package without an Australia Post tracking number – excruciating.
So, please don’t be mad that I took things into my own hands.
And I want you to know, I’m still just as excited as ever for my Spotify Wrapped and all the extra little details that are going to come with it. I’m just less bitter about it now.
