Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s mother didn’t want to read her daughter’s memoir The Whole Truth at first and admits some revelations made her ‘very sad’
KIIS FM star Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has just released her best-selling memoir, The Whole Truth.
In the powerful tell-all, the radio host, 49, speaks about her time in radio, her personal life and candidly revealed her private battle with prescription drug and alcohol addiction.
And now, Jackie O’s mother Julie has admitted that she didn’t want to read her daughter’s memoir at first, but managed to take a read just before it was published.

In an audio clip played on The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday, Julie explained that she didn’t want her thoughts and opinions to taint her daughter’s work.
“I deliberately didn’t want to read it, like, I only read it not long before it was published. But I didn’t want to read any of it because I didn’t want my comments to impact on what she would write,” Julie sweetly explained, with Jackie O calling her “Mumma O” on air.
She added that she felt “very sad” at some of the private things that Jackie O revealed in her book.

“So, I just sat down with it. Yes, there was quite a few things that not only not really surprised me and made me feel very sad that certain things had happened,” Julie continued.
“She didn’t include me, but I understand why. Because she did it to everyone. You know, she sort of just shut down.”
Julie added: “So, yeah, it made me sad that, you know, she went through all that and she didn’t confide in me. But then, you know, I could understand that.”

Jackie O previously revealed her battle with addiction by doing a planned reading of her book live on her radio show.
“I was in a really, really dark place,” she said at the time, with co-host Kyle Sandilands only finding out about her struggle during the reading.
In November 2022, Jackie O bravely sought professional help and endured a month-long stay in rehab at the Betty Ford Centre in the U.S.
All profits from the sales of the memoir are being donated to a rehabilitation centre, to help others who might be suffering.
