Joe Burrow gives update on wrist ahead of cold temperatures vs. Steelers

Joe Burr–ow might have some ice-cold problems in Pittsburgh.

The Bengals’ star quarterback, who missed the final seven games of last season with a wrist injury that has since been surgically repaired, admitted that the expected frigid weather for their Sunday matchup with the Steelers could pose problems.

“That’s a question that remains to be answered,” Burrow said, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Kelsey Conway, with temperatures expected to be in the 20’s or even teens on Sunday.

“I haven’t experienced a cold weather game with that yet. In the past, when I’ve had injuries, cold weather does affect it, so we’ll find out. Maybe I’ll have a heater on the sideline or something. I haven’t really thought about that yet, but we’ll see.”

Burrow has had zero problems operating the league’s top air attack this season, but admitting that cold weather has consistently plagued him with injuries is at least a little concerning.

Burrow, though, has a good history in games played in cold weather.

Still, Burrow was previously seen holding his wrist early in the season and appeared to struggle to unscrew a wattle bottle top while flexing his wrist on the sideline.

At this point in the season for the 4-7 Bengals, every game is a must-win as they attempt to pull off a playoff berth.

But given how competitive the AFC North is, the Steelers (8-3) and Ravens (8-4) will make any potential Wild Card berth challenging.

Cincinnati does have a game upcoming against the Broncos (7-5), the team they are chasing for the final Wild Card spot.
