Jude Law reveals Rosehill Cottage from The Holiday isn’t real
Jude Law has accidentally ruined some of the Christmas magic behind the film The Holiday.
The actor spoke with BBC Radio to discuss the festive season classic when he was asked about the famously gorgeous Rosehill Cottage, where Cameron Diaz’s character stays.
It’s the most charming house in the film, but Law confessed it wasn’t real and was instead built on a field for the movie.

“That cottage doesn’t exist,” he said, shocking host Zoe Ball, who had hoped it was available to rent on Airbnb.
“The director [Nancy Meyers], she’s a bit of a perfectionist [so she] toured that whole area and didn’t quite find the chocolate box cottage she was looking for.
“So she just hired a field and drew it and had someone build it.”

Though the exterior in the film was fabricated, the cosy interiors are real. The film was filmed at Honeysuckle Cottage in Holmbury St Mary, England, which is available on Airbnb.
Quintessentially English, the house in the film is lightly dusted in snow and filled with faded chintz, wooden beams and a warming fireplace.
Law played single dad and widower Graham Simpkins, who falls in love with Diaz’s character while she stays at the cottage.

The British heartthrob also explained why his tan seems to change throughout the film, explaining the crew filmed the movie’s exterior shots during winter and then moved production to the summer to film all the interior scenes.
“So, we were shooting it in the winter here [England] and every time I’d go in that door, we cut and we shot the interiors in LA,” he said.
“Just to burst the bubble,” the star concluded.
Will fans ever be able to watch the film the same way again?
