Julien Arnold death: A Christmas Carol stage actor dies aged 60 following mid-performance medical emergency
Canadian stage actor Julien Arnold has died aged 60.
Arnold was in the middle of performing A Christmas Carol at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta, on Sunday evening (Monday in Australia) when he experienced a medical emergency, collapsed and died.
An emotional statement from Punctuate! Theatre – the production company his wife, Sheiny Satanove, is the managing director of – confirmed Arnold’s death, saying he “[left] us as he lived – immersed in his passion for theatre”.

“Julien was a cherished member of the Edmonton theatre community whose warmth, talent, and generosity touched so many lives,” the statement, shared to Instagram this week alongside his and Satanove’s wedding photo, said.
”Julien’s presence will forever be missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
“Thank you for keeping Sheiny and their loved ones in your thoughts.”

Arnold’s cause of death has not yet been reported, though according to CBC News, which cited a spokesperson for Alberta Health Services, Arnold died at the theatre ”despite resuscitation attempts” from first responders.
A statement from the theatre confirmed that their run of A Christmas Carol – which was originally scheduled to end on Christmas Eve – will continue, with performances being dedicated to Arnold.
Per the playbill, he played Marley and Mr. Fezziwig in the show.

“A cherished member of the Edmonton theatre community, Julien was a gifted performer whose charisma and talent graced our stage in countless productions, including A Christmas Carol,” a message on Citadel Theatre’s Instagram page read.
“Julien’s passing is a profound loss to his family, friends, fellow Carol company members, Citadel staff, and the Edmonton community he loved so dearly.
“His presence brought joy, heart and depth to every role, and his artistic contributions – and big hugs – will be deeply missed.
“In his honour, this season’s run of A Christmas Carol is dedicated to his memory. We kindly ask for respect for his family’s privacy during this difficult time. Your love, support, and well wishes are deeply appreciated.”
