Early this Summer, it was revealed that Kenya Moore would not be returning to the Real Housewives of Atlanta following a suspension from the network.
Kenya Moore was let go amid an investigation after filming a scene for season 16 where she allegedly displayed posters of RHOA newcomer Brittany Eady performing sexual acts.
And now Kenya Moore is speaking out for the first time since news of the incident came out. During an appearance on Tamron Hall, Kenya addressed her exit taking accountability saying, “Hindsight is always fifty, fifty.”
She continued, “If I could do it all over again, I believe the photos were very distasteful, and I elevated the situation. I’ve elevated situations before, and I’ve taken full accountability for the things that I’ve done.“
Kenya said she was sorry and owned the fact that she didn’t need to take it that far adding, “But when I felt threatened, I’ve never had a child in a situation like this before. So, that’s why it escalated to the point where I was protecting not only myself, but my child.”
While she is no longer filming the season with her fellow housewives, Kenya confirmed that she was “still under contract” and remains “an employee of the network for now.”
Kenya does say she has gotten tons of support with one being boss Andy Cohen, “He has called, he has checked on me, he has given me advice. And I feel like he’s a really good friend and I just appreciate the support. That was my family for 12 years. I love them and I feel like they love me, it was just a really unfortunate situation.”
Kenya’s former co-star Sheree Whitfield recently spoke out saying that the show was “sinking” without Kenya explaining, “As an OG, it’s kind of hard to sit back and watch the show kind of slowly sink the way it is, so I’m not happy. I don’t like it.”
