Matt LaFleur gets into it with Lions fans in tense ‘TNF’ moment
Things got heated at Ford Field on Thursday night.
And that was before the game even started.
Before “Thursday Night Football” between the Packers and Lions, Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur got into a heated exchange with a fan on the field.
While people on the field were unfurling an American flag, one fan with a Lions No. 32 Brian Branch jersey seemingly started jawing with LaFleur, who didn’t take it quietly.
The coach started pointing and jawing at the Lions supporter, appearing to say “Shut the f–k up,” according to some internet lip readers.
The two had to be separated with the help of Packers players and staff and at least two of the game officials.
It was a bizarre moment before a big game between the NFC North rivals, who with the Packers (9-3) two games behind the Lions (11-1) in the division.

After making the playoffs last year with Jordan Love under center, the Packers appear primed to reach the postseason again, which impressed the Prime Video “Thursday Night Football” crew.
“It wasn’t that long ago, we were talking about, ‘Who is Matt LaFleur when Aaron Rodgers leaves the Green Bay Packers?’ Well, Luke Getsy’s been fired twice, Nathaniel Hackett’s failed twice and Aaron Rodgers has four wins in two years as a Jet. Matt LaFleur, at worst, has nine wins — two seasons in a row — he’s won a playoff game. I think we know exactly who Matt LaFleur is and that’s a hell of a football coach,” Andrew Whitworth said on the pregame show.
The Lions, however, got the best of the Packers in their previous meeting in Week 9 in Green Bay, but the Packers are now looking to flip the script on the road.
