Maxwell Caulfield Triumphant Comeback The Merry Gentlemen

If you watched The Merry Gentleman on Netflix, first off, congrats on making it through that forgettably festive flick. Secondly, while it wasn’t the best holiday movie we saw this season, it did feature the biggest (and best) surprise. That would be the reveal of Maxwell Caulfield as one of The Merry Gentleman.

I’m not sure if this can actually be heralded as a comeback, as he’s been working sporadically over the years. However, based on the thousands of comments on our Instagram reel, it’s the first time many have seen the 80’s heartthrob in years. In fact, it seems that different generations are reminiscing about Caulfield’s former glory. While our video throws it back to Michael from Grease 2, many of the comments are about Rex Manning from Empire Records.

About The Merry Gentleman

To save the Rhythm Room, her parents’ small-town performing arts venue, a former big-city dancer (played by Britt Robertson) stages an all-male Christmas revue. The gentleman are made up of five men, lead by Chad Michael Murray. After one of the younger cast members is injured, Caulfield’s older barfly character steps in to complete the revue. The Hallmark style film may or may not contain a happy ending. Insert sarcastic scoffing sound here.

The Merry Gentlemen is available on Netflix.

While many Instagram followers argue that Grease 2 is superior to Grease, it didn’t make our list of the best sequels ever. Here’s what did!
