Since The Last Showgirl debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, there’s been a lot of buzz about star Pamela Anderson deserving an Oscar. Now the trailer is finally here – and it’s easy to see why this may just be the performance of her career.
Pamela, who rose to fame in the 90s as C.J. Parker on Baywatch and went on to become a Playboy model, animal activist and author, leads the film as veteran showgirl Shelley, who learns her career is abruptly coming to an end.

What is ‘The Last Showgirl’ about?
Shelley is a seasoned and glamorous showgirl, surrounded by younger women who are emerging in the industry.
“Las Vegas used to treat us like movie stars,” Shelley says in the trailer. “The costumes, the sets. We were ambassadors for style and grace. The Las Vegas showgirl.”
She learns from her manager and ex-partner that her 30-year run is ending and she’s faced with the reality of what that means. When all she has ever known is performing on stage, she now has the difficult task of figuring out how to survive.

Who else stars in ‘The Last Showgirl’?
In addition to Pamela Anderson as Shelley, the film stars Jamie Lee Curtis who plays Shelley’s friend Annette, a waitress and former showgirl.
Dave Bautista stars as Shelley’s manager whilst Brenda Song and Kiernan Shipka play showgirls. Billie Lourd stars as Hannah, Shelley’s daughter. And Jason Schwartzman stars as a director who rejects Shelley’s audition.
The film is directed by Gia Coppola and written by Kate Gersten.
When will ‘The Last Showgirl’ be released?
The film is duefor a limited release in Los Angeles on December 13. The rest of the US will be able to see it from January 10, 2025.
