Ram Gopal Varma issues clarification on absconding case against him, ‘Police didn’t even enter my office…’
Ram Gopal Varma made it to the headlines yesterday as the reports of police hunting for him went viral. Reportedly, four cases got lodged against him over an old tweet shared by him a year ago. Rumours spread that the filmmaker is absconding and police teams have been made to search for him. It was also reported that his phone is switched off. He did share a video earlier talking about the case, revealing that he is busy with his work schedule and has asked the officials to reschedule. Now, Ram Gopal Varma has penned a lengthy post on X (formerly known as Twitter) clarifying on the case.
Ram Gopal Varma clarifies on latest case
Ram Gopal Varma shared a total of 20 points explaining the events that have unfolded and rubbishing all the reports claiming that he has gone absconding. His first point clarified that he has not gone anywhere and rather he is busy attending his film’s work. The second point is about reports suggesting that the police wants to arrest him. He wrote, “One other thing which might shock you is the fact that the police dint even enter my office so far , nor did they say that they came to arrest me to neither to my people nor to the media .. If they intended to arrest me why wouldn’t they come into my den office ???” He further questioned about the cases of similar manner filed against him in a span of 5-6 days indicating about a conspiracy against him. Talking about the FIR, he wrote, “On the basis of these alleged memes a FIR has been filed on me under sections 336 (4), 353 (2), 356 (2), 61 (2), 196, 352 of BNS and section 67 of IT.” Further, he explained what these sections mean.

About switching off his phone, Ram Gopal Varma clarified that he did so only to avoid incessant media and related calls so that he can focus on work. In the end, the Rangeela filmmaker wrote that he respects law of the land and will abide by the rules.
