Rita Carrey death: Jim Carrey’s sister dies aged 68, mourned by husband
Actor Jim Carrey‘s sister Rita Carrey has died. She is believed to be aged 68 at the time of her death.
Her passing, which occurred on November 14, was announced by her husband Alex on her Facebook page with a sweet tribute.
“Rita was my bestest friend, my lover and my beautiful wife. Rita always had a loving soul and wanted to help everyone even total strangers,” shared her husband Alex, who had dated her for 16 years prior to their dream outdoor wedding last year.

“As everyone knows Christmas was Rita’s favourite holiday actually it was everyday for her and she started a fundraiser to help a local charity.
“It’s been a wonderful and crazy journey with Rita. She filled everyone’s heart with joy with every step she took and I will never forget this beautiful and amazingly talented woman.
“Goodbye my lover. Goodbye my friend. Until we meet again. You really did have the Time of your life,” he wrote, signing off as, “Your bestest friend and husband Alex”.

No cause of death was mentioned.
Rita’s death comes five short years after the death of her and Jim’s brother John, who died in 2019 after he suffered from a blood condition called aplastic anaemia at age 60. The actor also has another older sister named Patricia.
The siblings were born to Kathleen and Percy Carrey, and were born and raised in Canada, near Toronto.

According to Rita’s Facebook profile, she had a career in music and media. At the time of her death listed herself as a co-host and producer at The Peet & Reet Show, co-owner at TriStream Entertainment, and singer-songwriter and lead singer of The Rita Carrey Band.
Jim, aged 62, has yet to comment on his sister’s death.
