Shocking! Sunny Deol talks about Bollywood camps, reveals big productions houses didn’t want to work with Dharmendra
Sunny Deol is one candid talker. The year 2023 was a great one for him and his family. His big return to the screen proved to be Gadar 2. The film turned out to be one of the highest grossing movies of 2023 and Sunny Deol became a favourite of filmmakers. His brother Bobby Deol also did wonders with Animal. The Deol brothers then appeared on several talk shows together including Koffee With Karan and shared their tale. Once again, Sunny and Bobby poured their heart out in a latest interview.
Sunny Deol opens up about Bollywood camps
In a chat with SCREEN, Sunny Deol spoke at length about Bollywood camps and what kind of effect it had; that was suffered by father Dharmendra as well. Firstly, he spoke about the existence of camps in Bollywood. He mentioned that there are people who will do ‘chamchagiri’ for one other and then there are people who are very upfront. But Sunny Deol said that being a Jat, he isn’t afraid of anything.
The Gadar 2 actor further shared that in the latter half of Dharmendra’s career, there were a lot of big production houses that did not work with him. He mentioned that many big productions didn’t work with him either. He added, “But what happens is, when you are talented, you are there and you can give those things. So that’s how I became a producer, I tried to bring in films, we did try to do all those things. Lekin jab tak koi nahi aata, toh aap kuchh nahi ghar sakta hai, aapko ladte hi rehna pata hai (But until someone comes, you can’t do anything, you have to keep fighting).” Despite all of it, the Deols do remain to be the most celebrated stars of Bollywood. They always make headlines in entertainment news.
Sunny Deol’s upcoming films
In the same chat, Sunny Deol confirmed that now he has many films in the pipeline. He confirmed that he is a part of Ramayana by Nitesh Tiwari that stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram. Lahore 1947, Border 2, Jatt and many more are also in the offing.
