Snack Wraps Are Officially Coming Back to McDonald’s! Here’s When:
McDonald’s is bringing back the Snack Wrap!
Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, confirmed the long-awaited return during a recent appearance on Good Morning America.
“The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,” Erlinger revealed when pressed by George Stephanopoulos to announce the next returning menu favorite. Calling the item a “cult favorite,” Erlinger shared that he receives constant customer requests for the wrap’s comeback. However, he kept the exact release date under wraps for “competitive reasons.”
The Snack Wrap, originally introduced in 2006, was discontinued in 2016 despite its popularity. The fan-favorite featured crispy or grilled chicken, shredded lettuce, cheese, and either ranch or honey mustard, all wrapped in a soft tortilla. Its comeback marks another milestone for McDonald’s, as the brand continues to expand its McCrispy line globally, promising wraps and tenders in most markets by the end of 2025.
This announcement comes on the heels of a challenging period for McDonald’s. The company recently faced scrutiny following a deadly E. coli outbreak traced to raw onions used in Quarter Pounders at several locations. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported one death, 34 hospitalizations, and cases spanning 14 states.
Erlinger addressed the issue during his GMA interview, apologizing to customers impacted by the outbreak. He assured viewers that McDonald’s has since stopped sourcing onions from the implicated supplier and farm, adding, “The investigation is over, but the work’s not done at McDonald’s. Food safety is our top priority.”
