Troy Aikman’s red eyes spark fan concern during ‘MNF’ broadcast

NFL fans were taking notice of Troy Aikman’s appearance on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast of the Bears and Vikings.

Those watching were questioning whether Aikman had been OK, wondering if there was anything wrong with his eyes as they appeared to be bloodshot, according to those posting on social media.

“Troy Aikman looking like he had a rough one last night,” one person wrote on X.

“Is Troy Aikman okay?  Look at his eyes,” another person wrote.

“What in the world is wrong with Troy Aikman’s eye???” a third person commented

“Honestly is Troy Aikman okay?  He looks like he’s on the lettuce,” wrote another user on X.

While users on social media appeared to be focused on Aikman’s eyes, his commentary didn’t appear to be any different than his usual work on broadcasts.

He did have a comical telestrator error while spotlighting Josh Metellus, who he could not locate on the field.

“Well, they’re going to bring Metellus, in the middle. Wherever he is, right?” Aikman said during the moment on the broadcast of the Vikings’ 30-12 win.

It wasn’t the only broadcast error that occurred during the Week 15 slate.

Kirk Herbstreit misidentified 49ers star Trent Williams while he was on the sideline during the “Thursday Night Football” that aired on Prime Video.
