‘Tu baat toh karegi…’, What Aamir Khan told Kareena Kapoor Khan after the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha will break your heart
Laal Singh Chaddha starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan failed miserably at the box office. The film that was inspired by Tom Hank’s The Forrest Gump could not meet commercial success even though it was critically acclaimed. Directed by Advait Chandan, the movie released in the year 2022 and made around Rs 61 crore approximately. It’s budget was more than Rs 180 crore. Aamir has often spoken about Laal Singh Chaddha’s failure and taken responsibility of it. Now, Kareena Kapoor Khan has also spoken about it.
Aamir Khan was shattered post Laal Singh Chaddha failure
In a chat with entertainment news portal The Hollywood Reporter India’s segment, Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up about failure of Laal Singh Chaddha and mentioned that Aamir Khan was shattered after the movie flopped. She recalled that Aamir met her post the film’s release and questioned her whether she will talk to him or not as now the film has failed at the box office. “Picture nahi chali humari na, tu baat toh karegi na mujhse?,” she said and it made everyone including Shabana Azmi, Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal and others on the panel feel bad for Aamir. Kareena Kapoor Khan also added that she feels that her character Rupa did much more for her than any other character including the one she played in Singham Again. Kareena added that the film wasn’t made with thought that it will cross Rs 500 crore mark but was made with all heart.
Kareena Kapoor Khan also recalled that the shooting of the film was done during COVID and she even got pregnant with her second child. She shared that she was scared and wondered how Aamir will react as the shooting of the film was don 50-60 percent. It was her husband Saif Ali Khan who encouraged her to inform Aamir Khan. As she did, Aamir was sweet to tell her that he is happy for her and will wait for her to finish the movie.
