Thousands were quick to react to the news, with friends and fans taking to the comment section to share their congratulations.
Dockers stars Andy Brayshaw and Luke Ryan both shared their excitement, Brayshaw simply commenting with two love hearts while Ryan wrote: “Congrats”.
The official Instagram of the Fremantle Dockers also shared in the excitement, commenting with a simple purple love heart.
The news comes only one month after it was confirmed the Melbourne-based star had signed a three-year contract extension that will see him stick with the Western Australian team until at least the end of 2026.
The extension comes despite Brodie not playing a single game for the team in 2024. He has instead spent the year as a pivotal member of Peel Thunder.
